The Questa area stands in contrast to the resort towns on the east side of the mountains.  The accommodations we are famous for are our world-class camping sites.  As of summer 2017, we have one traditional motel and two sites with charming cabins:

Cabresto Cabins

Questa Lodge
Located on Lower Embargo Rd., one easy turn off the main rd. (hwy 522) on the south end of town.  They offer RV hook-ups, and cabins that range from cozy to family-size in a park-like setting by the Red River.  Find more information

Sangre de Cristo Motel
This motel has stood near the traffic light in the center of Questa for many years.  If offers affordable, basic rooms with a very genuine retro feel.

Arts +

The Artesanos Cultural Center
A gallery that highlights some of our current artists.  The Center has limited hours due to the volunteer nature of its staffing, but is worth a visit.  Currently open Thursday and Saturday afternoons.

 Art Questa
The studio and gallery highlight the pottery of Sandra Harrington and the painting and jewelry of her husband Roger Harrington.  They are easy to find at the south end of town.  Open daily, 10-5pm. Find more information at

 Audrey Kunkel Beaded Designs
Audrey can make almost anything beaded.  Renowned for her jewelry, she also makes custom beaded dog collars, beaded spiders and other insects, and 3-D beaded hummingbirds to hang in your window.  Also offering beaded jewelry repair. By appointment.

This art & event space is located just across from the Visitors Center on hwy. 38. Under the auspices of the dynamic Barrie Andrews and Min Jae Hong, this lovely space hosts artists-in-residence, special exhibitions, print-making classes and yoga 7x/week.  Open Fri-Sun. during exhibitions.  Find more information at

The place for fine dining is Taos, just a half-hour to the south.  And Red River has fine family choices 20 minutes to the east.  Questa, however, is known for its hole-in-the-wall eateries with their loyal clientele!
